All About my Favorite Holiday!

If you didn't know, my parents are from India, so obviously, I am an Indian girl. The slide deck below is all about my favorite holiday, Holi. I hope you enjoy! Comment down below and tell me what your favorite holidays are and where your family comes from. Happy Holidays!

  1. Hi Nandini,

Thanks for sharing this wonderful information about Holi. I have to admit, I didn't know much about it until I read your post. I bet the children have a great time with that colored dust and water play!

To answer your questions, my favourite colour is red and my favourite dessert is a tough question to answer. I'm going to say cheesecake or ice cream.

My family celebrates Christmas and just last night we put up our Christmas tree. My 5yo daughter and 3.5yo son are very excited!

Does your class have a blog as well, Nandini?

    Best wishes,
    Kathleen Morris

PS I'm sharing this post in the week 9 STUBC post which will go out tomorrow.

    1. Hi Nandini,
Like Mrs. Morris, I did not know much about Holi, and I learned a lot. Is there a specific day that Holi is celebrated?

I would say blue is my favorite color, and anything chocolate is the best:)

We celebrate Christmas. When I grew up, my sister, brother, and I had to wait on the stairs before we could come down to see what Santa brought. My dad would prolong it with taking his time to set up the camera, etc. Of course, we carried on this tradition:)

I love your blogging and the creativity I am seeing!

    2. Mrs.Morris: My class is blogging, thanks for asking! Us children do have so much fun throwing water balloons at each other, but on a cooler day, we prefer not to get too wet. Have a great Christmas! =)

Mrs.Kimball: I'm not too sure because we celebrate Holi on whatever day we can. Holi is celebrated during the last full moon during a lunar month in India. There isn't a specific day or date to celebrate it. Blue is my favorite color too! Your Christmas tradition sounds fun! =)

  2. Hi, Nandini! My name is Kamryn. I really enjoyed your blog about Holi, it taught me a lot of new things. I never knew what Holi was I’ve actually never heard of it but now I know that it is the celebration of good winning over evil. This seems like a very fun and exciting holiday that I would love to one day try. Please go visit my blog and leave a comment, .
